FREE: nursing pads (disposable)

Free disposable nursing pads. There are 32 of the Lansinoh brand (individually wrapped), and about a dozen of the Nuk brand (which do not come wrapped, though they are new). I loved the Lansinoh brand and found it was the only one that really, really worked for me.

FREE: bibs - some days of the week

5 free bibs for small infants (not for toddlers - they are just not that large). Terrycloth. They have days of the week embroidered on them, but unfortunately I only have 5 of the days - not sure what happened to the other two! They are used, so are not 100% perfect, but totally serviceable!

FREE: crib bumper

Free crib bumper. The photo shows the pattern on the bumper. It's in good condition other than missing a couple of the ties that tie it to the crib rail. A crafty person might be inspired to add some on. I would describe the color of the background as periwinkle. No stains or tears. As you can see at the bottom of the roll, there is a ruffle.

FREE: infant tub (used)

This is a used infant tub. It's been through a few families and it's still ready for more! There is also a small fabric sling that goes in the middle for newborns, but we never used that. This has three seated positions for newborn, infant and toddler - though I don't realistically think a toddler could use it. It's been in the basement. I'll wash it out for you. :)

FREE: diaper covers - small and newborn (kinda oldish!)

Diaper covers are pretty spendy, but the reason I'm giving these away is that most of them are not very waterproof anymore. (Maybe that's not a big deal for your baby - mine is a real super soaker!)

There are 9 pictured here, but I found 2 more after taking the picture. The ones with cars on them and the set in the middle are probably newborn - small size, and the ones on the left (white) ARE still waterproof but are rather worn so they do not have a resale value. I found 2 more of those white ones that are still pretty good - all 4 of the white ones are probably small-medium and I would say are for a 12-20lb. baby.

FREE: Evening Primrose Oil capsules

This is an open bottle of Evening Primrose Oil capsules. They are used orally for many hormonal issues for women, but also used vaginally to "ripen" the cervix before birth. (I'm not giving you medical advice here :), but just telling you what people use them for.)

They're pretty spendy, so I thought someone might like them. The bottle originally contained 60 and I probably used about 10. Still good!

FREE: laundry detergent - Arm & Hammer

Half a HUGE box of Arm & Hammer laundry detergent. Cool Breeze scent. This was given to me by someone who changed the type of washer they use, and I can't use it because of the scent. Maybe you can? Maybe you know someone in need who can use it? Feel free to pass it on if so. It says it does 215 loads - and it is about 1/2 full.

FREE: Medela nipple shield (for sore nipples)

I never used these, though they are open. Medela nipple shields for you to wear under your bra if you have severely sore or cracked nipples from breastfeeding.

Here is more about them

FREE: Lanolin (open, lots left!)

This is 50-75% of a tube of Lansinoh Lanolin. I might have a 2nd one laying around as well, I'll try to find it. I just didn't end up needing it. Do you?

FREE: 3 knitted baby blankets - soft!

The one in the middle is maroon.

Feel free to take these for someone you know who might be in need.

FREE: Pepcid tablets (acid controller) - open package

These are both open, still good because the individual pills come in that bubble wrap stuff for pills. Blister packs? Is that what they're called? Well, these pills cost $ and I know that some mom out there is super pregnant and needing some relief! I used them briefly in pregnancy (nausea turned out to be my problem, not acid), and don't need them anymore. Shame to throw them away when someone out there has terrible heartburn!

FREE: baby bottle nipples, assorted

Assorted baby bottle nipples as pictured.
  • 0-3 months (slow flow)
  • silicone
  • a dozen or so
  • standard bottle size (not wide neck)
  • all have been washed

For Sale: $5 maternity support belt (size 1x)

This is a used, good condition Motherhood Maternity brand maternity support belt. Here it is on their website: http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=984200398&MasterCategory_Id=MC30?WHITE

I found this very helpful not only for later pregnancy, but also after pregnancy I felt my hips were "slipping" a little sometimes, and I used this for support around my hips for the first few weeks after giving birth - helped a lot!

It's a 1X (Should comfortably fit women's 16-20, maybe 22, size hip). It's basically 100% adustable due to it's double velcro construction.

FREE: Medela manual breast pump (used, clean)

FREE!

Medela manual breast pump with two settings - this is a big improvement over the way it used to be! I got this "free" as part of my hospital birth package, and I ask that if you take it that it is for you or a friend who *needs* it, not for re-sale please. This is my way of giving back to breastfeeding moms (it's hard work!), please honor that. Thank you!

I liked the manual pump for car trips, and occasional use. If you're just pumping once a day or so, or not sure if you want to continue pumping, this is the way to go. If you are going to need a pump daily (such as for working outside the home - I strongly suggest you get an electric pump. I am selling one here for $20.)

How This Works/FAQs

This blog is pretty simple: it's just a place for me to post pictures of stuff I'm selling or giving away. You probably found it by seeing one of my postings on Craigslist or Freecycle. This is not a business. I'm just a regular person living and working in Portland, trying to trim down the stuff in the garage that I don't need anymore.
If you are interested in an item, please respond to me at frugallizzie@yahoo.com with the following information:
  1. Item you are interested in
  2. Your contact information including name, email and phone number
  3. When you are available in the next few days to pick it up, see below for options under When/where do we meet?
My commitments to you:
  • Accuracy: If it is visible on this blog, I promise that I still have it. Posts and pictures will be deleted when items are taken. If someone is going to pick it up, I will make a note of that in the title of the post: "pending pick-up". You can still write and ask to be a back-up in case the person flakes.
  • Courtesy: Your time is valuable, so if I say I'll show up, I really will! If I can't, I'll be in touch with you! This is why it's so important for me to have your phone number.
  • Honesty: I'm really honest about the condition of the item listed and I do my best to depict it accurately. Feel free to ask questions, but it really is what I say it is.
  • Responsiveness: I respond to every person, even if it's just a brief note to say "Item sold! Thank you!" (My only exception is I don't respond to spambots or rude people. Fair, right?)

What I ask of you:
  • Items for sale are cash only. Please bring exact change if you can.
  • Trades, barter, and shipping outside of Portland are not available.
  • Delivery is not available unless otherwise noted in the post. With gas prices what they are, I may ask for a slightly higher price, and that would be listed.
  • My time is valuable too. Please come to our appointment. If you can't make it, please call me instead of emailing. Waiting around for someone is no fun.
  • If a price is listed, I am trying to price it fairly and I'm not usually very flexible about the price. Offers are accepted only if "OBO" ("or best offer") is listed in the post. Otherwise the price you see is the price I will accept. This is not because I'm a jerk, it's because haggling over email about an item you haven't even seen yet is usually a time waster for both parties.
When/where do we meet?
  • I can meet you either at (A) Fred Meyer on SE 82nd/Foster on evenings, weekends, or some weekdays, or (B) during some weekday hours downtown at the Starbucks on SW 10th and Alder. I am trying to sell and give away many items, so I am trying to consolidate my meeting times as much as possible. Thanks for understanding my need to be a little efficient!
About me:
I'm a bargain-hunter! Sometimes I'm bargain hunting for fun, sometimes out of necessity. I like to find cheap and free things on Craigslist and Freecycle both to save money and to use second-hand items as a way to minimize my family's impact on the planet. I'm also a declutterer! I'm trying to trim down the number of things in our house that we don't use or don't need. I hope that you enjoy what I offer!

Sincerely,
Lizzie
